You mean this? o: It definitely LOOKS interesting! I’ve been having fun thumbing through the genre/trope, as it has lead me to look into Carnosaur and consider it as a read, along with letting me know that some amazing people decided to make a movie called Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl.

Because that’s just basically the closest thing I’d imagine we’d get to a live action Darkstalkers.

I am already too small for work pants that I bought, like, two weeks ago. Even the yoga pants I bought forever ago are a bit loose on me, now.

I at least have a legitimate reason to complain about “losing too much weight” - it can be harsh on the gallbladder.

Bleh.

BLEH. I at least have 2 days off next week! I can buy more comics and clean my car and assemble my comic shelving and apply to an ACTUAL part time job and play video games until I just puke.

I actually put BACK one of the BPRD TPBs I picked up when I wound up finding the entire Hawkeye run

It’s been a while since I posted something with a lot of text. Do you like text? Because here comes Sigmund’s inspiration sheet.

Crispin Glover absolutely has to be on here because I think he’s going to be the chief visual inspiration on what I really want his face to do. Seriously, google image search this man and just scroll. Even when you get the random picture where you’re all “but that’s Willem DaFoe” it’s just great. And it probably just means somewhere I can find a movie where Glover and Dafoe are an evil rich genius Son / Father team.

June bugs are kind of a strange one to include, but are visual and locomotion based. You see them and they’re these huge flying beetles, and they used to scare me. I mean, they are a species of scarab beetle. So that’s already creepy, but they have this pretty red color. And…my biggest experience with June bugs is that they spend a short amount of time in flight, bonk into something, then fall to the ground and are stuck on their backs like a turtle. This is important / means something.

Edgar - or rather, the Edgar suit - and the bug aliens from MIB in general. Sometimes a guy just wants to drink a high concentration of sugar in water and that’s fine.

Hanar from the Mass Effect series - I am shocked they haven’t already gone on an influence sheet of mine, and am secretly convinced they are on one somewhere that I forgot. They are partially on here for speech pattern influence, for this one. Sometimes Sigmund just refers to himself with a complete lack of personal reverence and chances are the last entrant has kind of told you why.

And, also due to several other influences upon here, there is a heavy degree of cosmic horror involved in Sigmund’s being. I actually write him as a “good guy”! But to store all the fridge horror logic, I’d need a walk-in cooler.

Dr. Ian Malcolm is perfectly aware that life finds a way. Movie version, strictly, because even if they keep the “rock star” comparison, and everything…he LOOKS cool, but you see him start talking and there’s something just that’s more charmingly nerdy about him. Again, a speech patterns and ‘strange gestures’ influence - Sigmund isn’t constantly on the hunt for a Future Ex-Mrs. Gilroy.

I probably could have gone for any iteration of this story, but here’s Goldblum again, this time as Seth Brundle. The Fly is something I have not SEEN full-on in remake form, but I’ve seen the original film based on the short story. There’s a subtle thematic shout-out for how I think Sigmund is, in my head.

And…having gotten this far, just. Jeff Goldblum. I have seen a couple interviews with him, and he’s just a portrait in character quirkiness / studying. In particular, he has mentioned in a Conan interview, I think (?), that he watches people’s hands a lot. Just subtle reminders, to not be afraid to have this character act atypically to his more visual appearance of a ‘suave agent in a black suit and tie’.

Lots of base ‘actor’ inspirations, and we carry that on with Vincent Price. One that needs no justification. But the subtle pause at around 29-30 seconds in nails it.

Last but not least, here’s Albert Wesker from Resident Evil. Amusingly enough? Never played a Resident Evil game with him in it, besides his kinda…cameos? In RE4. But I know he’s got some sort of mostly humanoid-looking, special-eyed, virus-derived-from-a-parasite superpowers going on. The difference is that Wesker is really really ‘cool’, and Sigmund sometimes takes two or three tries to figure out spacial awareness when trying to scratch his own face.

A sort of warm-up doodle thing I started but didn’t get far on hence no hands and cropping it in close, but Cam is still fun to draw. I think Tomb Raider has me hyped on my Action Girl trope ladies. 8| Gonna have to think about drawing a young Felicity but…gah. I’m still so exhausted. I know I am heading into this terrible 42 hour week at my “part time” job.

I can’t wait for it to be over.
