A sort of warm-up doodle thing I started but didn’t get far on hence no hands and cropping it in close, but Cam is still fun to draw. I think Tomb Raider has me hyped on my Action Girl trope ladies. 8| Gonna have to think about drawing a young Felicity but…gah. I’m still so exhausted. I know I am heading into this terrible 42 hour week at my “part time” job.

I can’t wait for it to be over.

Besides Sebastian, I don’t think I am ever really that happy with a profile drawing.

I may do a few quick revamps on Sig here and there (he’s currently in a cast with no beauty marked characters and no one can stop me from giving him a pink facial mole, increase Crispin Glover-y features to 110%, maybe make those antennae slimmer), and streamline how to do his buggy appendages so it isn’t like drawing an armored character so much, but! I REALLY like how his spinal ridge looks.

Despite his ginger genes on the human end of things, it seems I only decided to freckle him where the…bug…genes. Intersect. Mostly just figuring out his spine and lazily hiding his left hand in a way that looks odd.

I don’t actually intend to draw every character I design shirtless as much as it probably seems, and realistically this guy will probably stay bundled up even in warm weather.

That weird moment when I realize I make accidental lead characters somehow green every time.

I kind of am wondering about entering a second character into Miss OC but I also don’t know if I even really have time for the ONE I entered with how little time I already have for my comic.

This is a redo of a prior inspiration meme for Oktyabrina. Some of the characters are the same - but you will note key differences in the timing of the picture being used, in that character’s story. This is the CHARACTER BOOT CAMP edition.

She is probably not as evil as Katinka, but that is the only character I ever think of when I think of how badly I probably write a Russian accent.
There are generally more battle-ready characters on this list than before. Oktya is not actually a robot, but EDI’s sense of humor and lack of emotional range…is coming from a place where I think she is trying to LEARN emotions, as an AI. It’s relevant. Celes is a serious person, not some OPERA FLOOZY (excuse her, won’t you, she has to go learn to sing opera now immediately).

I haven’t drawn fanart of Franziska yet and that’s terrible.

A Sigmund bust because SUITS~~~~. Bug-men in suits.

And, once again, now that they are a QUARTET! Originally there was gonna be a fifth person but I guess we just completely lack ‘The Chick’ in the five man band. EITHER WAY, working names/personalities:

• Kelly Sigmund Gilroy

Impartial and meticulous, with an appreciation for humor and wit, even with lack of real practice. It does translate into sarcasm and gallows humor, erring towards a gruff demeanor if someone-or-thing doesn’t seem useful.

• Oktyabrina Lizveth Erben

Highly intelligent and capable; however she is prone to single mindedness, aloof behavior with majority of her peers, finding her study subjects as preferred company, and being overly austere or serious with most matters.

• Bedrock Grotto

Honest and fearless, with a sincere fondness for using his strength to help when it is needed. Unfortunately dim, and consequently a bit selfish, less through being actively greedy, but by being accustomed to being doted on.

• Monroe Emanita Winters

Exuberant and helpful - even if she doesn’t know what to do, she’s not afraid to ask, and DO IT. It can make her seem pushy. Childish and a bit impulsive, which makes her absolutely dreadful at planning, particularly with finances.

SO! They are for a project I will tackle someday maybe. Even if it’s just for illustrations and minor Alternate Earth drawings.

Test-sketch of a more iguana-frill-like set of hair tendrils and really donkey-like ears plus wider-set eyes. I think while it IS very cute and maybe would lend itself to a more quadruped creature, I either need to wholly repurpose Bedrock’s features or. I don’t know. As it stands this seems like…TOO soft and cute-looking.

Like, really, I may need to try it all one change at a time. But here it is if anyone else has input they’d like to offer…?

One crew member left! I am starting to get really jealous of the fact that I have two characters with sea monster tattoos.

So, I am gonna do one of these for all the people in that other idea I am brewing. Monroe is kind of your typical, sympathetic / relatable human lead, and Sigmund…well. He’s learning. Or mostly, RE-learning - it turns out motor skills are even harder to get re-accustomed to when on top of figuring out spacial awareness, you feel a little bit more like you are piloting Voltron without an instruction manual (did Voltron have an instruction manual? I feel like it definitely should have).

TWO DOWN, TWO TO GO! I should probably also work on Monday’s update since holy crap it’s already Friday.

So THAT’S out of the way! Not that I have a lot of time to do stuff before work, derp derp.

While figuring out Monroe’s fashion sense, Casey also helped me figure out that she should have a giant drill hand and a claw on the other hand. She is now set to be in a story where instead of Scooby Doo-esque mystery chasing, I deconstruct what it means to be a Mega Man villain.
