The closest thing I can think of is Terry Pratchett’s “Hogfather,” which discusses in some parts how the fantasy-equivalent of Christmas in that book went from a pagan ceremony to the current jolly guy in a suit. You’ve got a cool idea there, though!

I frequently hear Pratchett’s name, but admittedly have only watched a two-part film thing for Discworld! If I get more involved in audiobooks over music in the future I will have to check out his stuff, because I enjoyed what I’ve seen.
